Server rules
Read these before you connect. Not knowing a rule won't excuse breaking it.
Be respectful to all players.
Zyphia PvP is a competitive Factions network where raiding, cannoning, and open-world PvP are core to the experience. Fight hard, play smart, and keep the warfare in the game. These rules keep the network welcoming and safe while preserving the hardcore gameplay you came for.
Expectations of behavior
We want players to cooperate and compete in a positive environment, never in a way that disrespects or abuses another player. Factions is competitive by design. Rivalries, raids, and betrayal between enemies are part of the game, but harassment is not.
This applies everywhere you meet another player: in chat, over voice, in gameplay, and in our Discord.
Reporting rule breakers
Reporting players helps us sharpen our moderation and keeps the experience better for everyone on the network. Use /report in-game, or open a ticket in our Discord.
- Chat offenses require screenshots.
- Combat offenses, such as hacked clients or glitching, require video evidence.
- Voice chat offenses require a recording that clearly identifies the player speaking.
- Discord offenses require a screenshot or a message link.
Proximity voice chat
Zyphia PvP runs proximity voice chat through the Simple Voice Chat plugin, so you can talk to any player in range of you in-game. Voice chat is a privilege, not a right. Breaking the voice rules can cost you a voice mute on its own, separate from your chat punishments, and serious offenses carry a full server punishment.
How voice chat works on Zyphia PvP:
- Voice chat is proximity-based, so anyone in range can hear you. Treat everything you say over voice as public chat.
- Voice chat is actively moderated. Staff may join or listen to any channel at any time, and there is no expectation of privacy on server voice chat.
- You can turn any player down, or mute them outright, from the voice chat settings. Muting is your first line of defense against minor disturbances.
- Voice changers and soundboards are allowed for fun and entertainment only. Using them to impersonate staff or players, to disguise harassment, or to blast disruptive audio is punishable.
Reporting server bugs
Reporting bugs lets us fix them and keep the gameplay experience solid across the network. It matters even more on Factions, where duplication glitches, cannon exploits, and claim-bypass bugs threaten the entire server economy. Voice chat bugs count too, such as hearing players outside your range, speaking through walls, or reaching a channel you should have no access to.
Do not use or share a bug you have found. Exploiting one is punishable even if you found it by accident. Honest bug reports may be eligible for a reward.
Player safety and account security
Every Zyphia PvP player is responsible for their own account and their own personal information. That responsibility covers everything done on the account, including actions taken by faction members using shared resources. Never share your account details or personal information with anyone.
Voice chat is live and unfiltered. Never give out your real name, location, or personal details over voice, and never share another player's information in any form.
Alternate accounts are allowed only within the limits staff have set. Using an alt to evade a punishment is strictly prohibited.
How punishments work
Every punishment scales with the offense and with your record. A first offense is not treated like a fifth, and staff may skip straight to the top of the scale when an offense is severe enough to warrant it.
Takes away chat for a set length of time while you keep playing. Mutes escalate with each offense, starting at 1 day and reaching 30 days for repeat offenders.
Takes away proximity voice chat and nothing else. Voice mutes are issued on their own, separately from any chat or server punishment, and follow the same escalation.
Removes you from the network for a set length of time, usually 7 to 30 days depending on the offense and on what is already on your record.
Removes you from the network for good. Reserved for cheating, staff impersonation, real world trading, chargebacks, and offenses you have already been banned for once.
Extends a ban to every account on your connection. Issued for punishment evasion, alt abuse, and any threat made against a player or against the server itself.
Behavior that is not allowed
These apply regardless of intent. The list covers the offenses we see most, and it is not exhaustive. The punishment on each one is the starting point, not the ceiling.
Abusive language, slurs, inappropriate topics or jokes, misleading information such as fake store or payment messages, and spam of any kind, including faction invites, ally requests, and teleport requests.
Slurs, harassment, threats, or inappropriate content over voice. This includes mic spam, ear rape, intentionally loud or distorted audio, soundboard abuse, blasting music, and talking over other players to disrupt them. Every chat abuse rule applies in full to voice chat.
Advertising third-party websites, servers, Discord names or tags, social media, or real-money item shops, whether in chat, in signs and books, or over voice chat.
Threatening or carrying out doxing, DDoSing, harassment, or blackmail, sharing personal information, or sending malicious links. Calling it a joke is not a defense, and voice chat is no exception.
Pretending to be a staff member, or claiming to speak for one, in chat, over voice, through a voice changer, in a name, nickname, skin, or faction tag, or in Discord messages. Faking a rank, a warning, or a punishment message counts, and so does asking anyone for account details, items, or payment in the name of staff. Staff will never ask for your password.
Disallowed modifications, macros, autoclickers, bug abuse, exploiting, boosting, scripting, and punishment evasion. X-ray through mods or texture packs, freecam, reach, and cannon auto-rebuild macros all count.
Selling, trading, or giving away an account, sharing an account between players, and using alts to evade a ban.
Impersonating another faction in a name or tag, and using claims to lag the server on purpose.
Lag machines, lag cannons, entity spam, and anything else meant to lag the server for an advantage during a raid. Cannons must follow the cannon rules posted in our Discord, and buffer claims may not exceed the limits in /f help.
Faction names and tags, banners, skins, usernames, item names, nicknames, base designs including walls, pixel art, and interiors, and any soundboard or audio played over voice chat.
Exchanging game content, items, coins, spawners, services, or accounts for real money or through an outside platform, including trades that involve other servers or games. Games of chance, gambling, and player-run casinos fall under this as well.
Giveaways, and advertisements of giveaways, are not allowed on Zyphia PvP unless staff are running them. Use /report on anyone advertising one. Taking part in an unofficial giveaway puts you at risk of a punishment too.
Part of the game
For clarity, the following are allowed and will not be punished.
- Insiding
Stealing from, griefing, leaking, or destroying your own faction from the inside. It is scummy, but it is Factions. Choose who you trust carefully.
- Power boosting
Using alternate accounts to hold or inflate your faction's power. The alt limits still apply, and an alt may never be used to evade a punishment.
- Bounty hunting, traps, and overclaiming
Hunting bounties, baiting rivals into traps, and overclaiming any faction sitting below its power.
- In-game scams
Scams involving in-game items or coins only. Anything touching real money, store purchases, or an outside platform is strictly bannable.
- Banter and trash talk
Talking trash with your rivals, in chat or over voice. Slurs, threats, and harassment are never part of that.
Our Discord
Every rule on this page applies in our Discord too, in text channels, voice channels, and DMs you send to other members. Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply on top of ours, which means you must be 13 or older to join.
- Keep each channel to its topic, and take support to a ticket in the category that fits: general, bug, appeal, admin, or purchase. Do not DM or ping staff for help.
- No spam, including mass mentions, ghost pings, and posting just to climb the level leaderboard.
- No invite links or advertising, in channels or in DMs to members.
- The only giveaways allowed are the ones staff run through the bot.
- Keep your nickname, avatar, and profile appropriate, and never set them up to pass as staff.
Discord offenses start with a timeout, then a kick, then a ban from the Discord. Staff impersonation, threats, and scams are punished on the server and in the Discord at once.
Chargebacks and store abuse
Disputing a store payment without contacting staff first will result in a permanent ban and possible blacklisting from Zyphia PvP and affiliated networks.
Punishments and appeals
Evading a punishment, or attempting to, will earn you a harsher one and moves you up the scale. That includes using an alt to slip past a voice or chat mute, which turns a mute into a ban and a ban into an IP ban. Voice mutes may be issued separately from server punishments and do not stop you from playing. They only remove the privilege of voice chat.
Every punishment can be appealed through a ticket in our Discord. Staff members have final discretion, and these rules may be updated at any time. Changes are announced in our Discord.
